Back to Danville

Barbara started feeling better so she had me take her back to Jenny's house. Jenny is getting better all the time but still has a ways to go and needs the help. It's all good on many levels.

Nothing.....

It's weird on Sunday when there are no Football games or Car Races on TV. This is the Bye week prior to the Superbowl. After that there will really be NO FOOTBALL. oh well, it happens every year around this time. The NASCAR races will start up here pretty quick with NHRA right behind. I be much better then.

Whether the Weather

The Weatherman on TV has been talking about it's the driest January in decades and that there's no rain in sight... so I thoroughly watered the lawn because of their EXPERT forecast. Well, it rained and the Weatherdudes all said, "Golly, Where'd that come from"? Bottom line, They don't know their ass from a hole in the ground!

Frustrations

Of all things, my keyboard quit working today. It got so if I struck any key, it would freeze up my computer. @#&^%@*!!! After much, MUCH frustrating troubleshooting, I got it squared away. I ended up having to go into the control panel, uninstalling then re-installing the drivers to make it work. Glad I got it fixed but whatta hassle!

TCB

Barbara came home for a minute to take care of hair and nail appointments. Even though her time was short and her chores were full, she still made time to take care of me. Doing shopping and cuffing my new pants were just a couple of the neat things she did before having to leave again. She really saves my butt a lot.

Things just feel right

Barb came home today. It's just a pit stop to get her hair and nails done by her people here in town. Then she's off again but I'll see her on Saturday at Jake's birthday party.

AVG

Tommy called and I uploaded a copy of AVG anti-virus so he could download it to his machine. It went off without a hitch! I love it when a plan comes together.

Strange Place

Pan's Labyrinth

I downloaded and watched the movie called Pan's Labyrinth. I've been hearing a lot of buzz (even Oscar buzz) so I thought I would check it out. It is part surreal dark fantasy and part realistic period piece. Very strange and original. Also it was sub-titled from Spanish but that was not a problem. One of those movies that I'm glad I saw but would never watch it again.

Downloading

I find that lately I've been figuring out what movie I want to watch... Searching for it... downloading it... watching it... deleting it. Works pretty cool. Today I did that very process with the movie "Dogma" and it worked out well.

Quick

I downloaded a Hi-Def copy of tonight's episode of "Scrubs" off the internet BEFORE it was even telecast here on the west coast. Pretty neat. It allowed me to watch the UFC and tape "Grey's Anatomy". (and see great picture quality in stereo)

It Was A Nice Drive

As I drove to Turlock to do some banking, I was thinking how independent I was being. Then as I circled Bank of America for 20 minutes looking for a parking place... I thought, "Heck with this," and called Barbara to do it. At least I got a nice drive out of it.

Thank you Barbara for once again bailing me out!

Home Alone

I found that I'm having to get used to being home alone again. It's just a little weird because earlier as I sat here, I just felt as Barb was in the front of the house... a nice warm comfortable feeling, until I stopped to realize I was here by myself.

Back To Danville

Well, Barb went back to Danville. It was a great visit and she really hooked me up with the food and laundry. She's doing whats necessary with Jenny's recuperation and I'm doing whats necessary to keep myself and the house going while she does.

A Good Day!

Barb came home and we got to spend some time together. When she's here, the quality of the meals go up at least 100%! She fixed us a great Chicken on toast sandwich for lunch and then Steak, Potato, Roasted Veggies and Garlic bread for dinner. Ummmmmm.....good! Then we watched "Dreamgirls" on DVD and it was a pretty good musical. Everybody in it did some good acting (and singing). It was a good day!

Pickin' Up

I was busy trying to pick-up a bit because Barbara is coming home for a short pit stop this weekend. The house has been relatively straight but I vacuumed and cleaned up in the kitchen. This was the 1st time I used the new Dyson vacuum. It sucks!

Boston Legal

I've now watched 3 episodes of "Boston Legal" in the last 24 hours and they were all good! I really like this show so I enjoyed the time.

1st

During the Christmas and New Years, I didn't have to tape any of our regular television programs as they were all re-runs. Well last night I set up to tape Boston Legal and something went wrong and it didn't tape. Oh well I thought... then I happen to find it on-line at one of my share sites. So I downloaded a TV program on-line for the very first time. YAY! It worked real well.

Money's Worth

I love my Flowbee! People can joke and say what they want, but It works great and has paid for itself MANY times over. I've used it for over 5 years now with no complaints.... Cha - Ching!

Slow Day

Another slow day (far too many lately).... I played Cribbage online with Tom for a couple of hours and I watered the lawn. That was about it. Just watched TV and played on MySpace. Typical Monday.

Playoffs

I watched the wild-card playoff games today and I played Cribbage with Tommy for awhile. Later I watched the DVD of "Talladega Nights" that I ripped from Chris's copy at Christmas. It was a very kick-back day.

I'm Outta Here...

I got a case of cabin fever and decided to get out of the house. So I went on a Road Trip! I burned a couple of CD's for the road and I was gone... gone.... gone, baby! I drove down to Delano to see my brother and nephew. It all went like clockwork. A nice drive down, a three plus hour visit and a nice drive back. I was home by 6pm.

Fence

Today was a fence day. I went out and measured the bad portions of the wind damaged fence. I called the insurance company with the numbers and settled the claim. Then I went out and put a repair board up to secure the damaged part from the once again increasing winds. A fence day!

Thar She Blows

The winds are picking back up tonight. About a week ago it was very windy and we ended up with a lot of fence damage. The claim is still pending so if there's going to be further damage, let it be now.

TCB

I filled out the escrow paperwork for the house on Robertson and took down to get it notarized. $10, a fingerprint and Bada-Bing it's all legal. I sealed it all up and mailed it off to Chicago Title.
Everything should be right on track.

Gone Again

Barbara had to end her visit and go back to Jenny's. I really enjoyed her brief time here. It makes me realize how much I enjoy her company. S'All good.... she'll be back!

My New Years Surprise!

I got a pleasant surprise when Barbara came home from Jenny's for a day. She fixed a great dinner and then my favorite chocolate cake. Ummmmm..... Cake! A really neat way to start the new year. Thanks baby!
