~An Angel Here on Earth~ I could see it in your eyes as they sparkled when we talked. You had a good soul ready to help out those who were struggling for the same answers you sought. Questions of life and heaven and purpose. Your purpose was clear; a love of nature, a friend to all and to touch the lives of everyone you met.
Part of the Lynwood brotherhood growing up, an only child with lots of brothers and sisters. Even as a youngster you had a conscience to know what was right. Yet you were friends with some that would go out of their way to find adventure by getting in trouble. Sometimes it was safer to just wait for them in the bushes off to the side of the road.
Joe first met you delivering papers on your bicycle, tossing them right and left down the street. That friendship lasted over 45 years. Darrel told me that you two would mow lawns just to get enough money to go fishing, that same day. You were in many of his stories and I know he was there to greet you in heaven with a big smile and a fishing pole.
My fondest memory was when we surprised you on your birthday. Joe, Tom, Rich and I came up to see you in Aberdeen, at the Trailer Park. We brought decorations, food, and old photos to look at while playing some oldies on the Cd Player in our truck. I was always glad to visit and spend time getting to know you for myself and listening to the important things you felt you could share. I will miss our talks, but am so happy we had the chance to connect.
