Bond.... James Bond!

I watched "Casino Royale" that I had downloaded. It was a pretty good, action packed movie with the new James Bond (Daniel Craig). It had extra meaning as I had watched...

the new movie on Starz Saturday. It was "The Matador" with the old James Bond (Pierce Brosnan) as an off-kilter hit man. He takes on these different roles as he can afford to with all the money he's made off of James Bond movies. All in all it was a pretty good movie.

Something Missing

I watched the movie "Syriana" on my computer today. It takes place in the middle east and there were scenes where they were speaking Arabic but with no sub-titles. I initially thought maybe it was supposed to be like that, but a third of the way through I stopped and downloaded a different copy and sure enough the were sub-titles and the movie made much more sense!

Blown Away

It was so windy last night (....how windy was it?) ...it was so windy that several parts of our fence blew down and the internet was out all night. With the internet down I couldn't post anything here or anywhere. The wind has settled down by now.

Finally!

Christmas is over! It was very cool and a lot of fun.... but enough is enough. We took down and put away all of the Christmas decorations. We moved the tree outside to get it ready for next weeks trash pick-up. We needed to get it done as Barb is going to Danville to care for Jenny and her broken leg for awhile.

~ 60 ! ~

Merry Christmas to all!
It's the anniversary of the birth of Jesus Christ, the figurehead of Christianity. It's a generally joyous time of year for us to enjoy our families and friends. We wish for peace on earth with happiness and prosperity of all!

Barb's Dinner

She waited on everyone hand and in Jenny's case, foot. Working tirelessly for several days prepping everything and today was the pay-off. Everything was delicious and went great. It was the bomb! SHE IS THE BOMB! Congratulations Barbara, you done good!

Crazy

Controlled insanity.... or just plain CRAZY! It's crunch time around here for tomorrows big Christmas dinner. Barbara is really putting it all together like the champ she is... I just do little things here and there but basically I just try to stay outta the way.

Tree Zup!

We got our Christmas tree up and decorated! And I must say that except for Jacob's tree, our tree is the bestest ever!

Couldn't post last night.... couldn't get on line. Our Interner Service was out.

Broke

Poor Jenny went for her morning walk and slipped on some black ice. She broke her leg and has suffered all day waiting for the doctors to set it. They will end up pinning it (surgery) tomorrow morning. Barb went to comfort and help her little girl like the caring mom she is. Poor Jenny!

Finally

I played Tom some On-Line Cribbage today. Normally that wouldn't be that big of a deal but Yahoo's game site hasn't been working for a couple of weeks. After what happened at MSN GameZone (they shut down old-fogey cribbage for newer, fast paced, shooter games for the kids) I was afraid it might be gone forever. Hooray! It's back and we played.

I forget who won but it wasn't me

Cookin' da cookies

Barbara baked cookies today. Lots of cookies! The house always smells so good when she cooks, but cookies smell the best. She packaged and addressed them for monday mailing. This will take care of a few of our Christmas presents. We're getting closer to Christmas but we will beat the clock. Yay!

Barb's Back

Barb came home today and we can get back to normal. NORMAL? As normal as you can get this time of year. She no sooner got home and she was wrapping presents and prepping cookie fixin's. She works hard to make a lot of people happy.

Pix

We printed up a bunch (60) of pictures for Jay, so he can include them in his Christmas cards. We don't mind doing it but it was untimely as we were low on ink. So we ended up having to go to the store and get some more. It all worked out well.

one... two... tree

We bought our Christmas tree today! With this holiday it's always something and you just hafta keep a smile on your face while you get each thing completed. GOT THE TREE... OK, now we just gotta trim and decorate it. Getting the tree and decorating it are always a festive, enjoyable part of the Christmas ritual. FUN!

Done! (for the most part)

We got all of our Christmas cards addressed, stamped and ready to mail. I made Reyna a Birthday card we have to mail also. It feels good that it's all done except for any unexpected cards we may get.

Re-Do

I did a new "Christmas" themed page for MySpace. It's always a chore but very satisfying. I'm relatively happy with the outcome.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Friday, December 08, 2006

I was trying to figuring out what to write about today and I realized as slow and normal as today was, I had been alone. Barb was gone and I had to fend for myself. It still was a slow day and I watched more TV than I normally do. It must have something with being alone. It's all good!

Barb Left Today

She went to spend a few days in Danville to get some work done. I'll be in charge here and responsible to water and stuff. I know that it'll go smoothly.

Shopping Trip

We went to town (Turlock) today to do some shopping. We got our normal food stuff but we also bought stuff for Christmas gifts. Mostly stocking stuffer things but it was a very fruitful trip.

Xmas is in the air

We designed, made up and printed our Christmas cards for 2006. I'm pretty happy with the end product. One more thing we can cross off our TO-DO list.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Momma's Home

Typical Sunday with lots of footbal. No auto races as both NHRA and NASCAR season's are over until next year. Their season just ended and I miss them already.

oh, and Barb came home from her babysitting gig! I was beginning to miss her already.

Not Much Going On...

I watched a lot of TV today and burned a couple of DVD's. Not much, just kicking it!

Home Alone

Barb went to help Susan out and is spending the night so to babysit Jacob tomorrow. As I sit here during the day I keep feeling that she is sitting quietly in the Den on her computer. As I sit here at night, I quietly work trying not to disturb Barbara who I keep thinking is sleeping behind me. Weird!
